LIVING FOR CHRIST…

How exactly am I supposed to do that?

Yesterday we returned home from our vacation in Mexico. This is the same vacation I mentioned in ‘why a Blog’ ( see my HOME page) , Jesus has changed the desires of my heart to seek Him first. As we return home, we are faced with the reality of what our life has become.

We have settled into the condo… its not so bad; 3 people, 2 bedroom 2 bath; we each have our privacy, but yet still many decisions to be made… where to start. We both went through a grieving process as we said goodby to our previous home, we spent 10 years creating a life there. We knew it was the right decision but that didn’t take the sting of loss out of it.

For Mikes mom, moving back into the condo that she had moved out of a year earlier was a difficult transition, and for Mike, He could only see failure… at one time he owned 8 properties , now all were gone and we were living in the condo he had bought for his Mom.

The enemy battled us on many fronts as we learned to seek Gods plan for us and release the things that were not part of that plan. And it was in this place that I opened Gods word and asked Him to meet me….and I’m so very glad that He did.

Journal Entry: #10

You have been raised to life with Christ. Now set your heart on what is in heaven, where Christ rules at Gods right side. Think about what is up there, not about what is here on earth. You died, which means that your life is hidden with Christ, who sits beside God. Christ gives meaning to your life, and when He appears you will also appear with him in glory. Col. 3:1-4 CEV

God Loves you and has chosen you as his own special people. So be gentle, kind, humble, meek and patient. Put up with each other and forgive anyone who does you wrong, just as Christ has forgiven you. Love is more important than anything else. It is what ties everything completely together. Col. 3:12-14 CEV

Let the message about Christ completely fill your lives, while you use all your wisdom to teach and instruct each other. With Thankful hearts, sing psalms, hymns & spiritual songs to God. Whatever you do or say should be done in the name of the Lord Jesus, as you give thanks to God the Father because of him. Col. 3:16

Lord Jesus,

Thank you for your word, my heart is filled with thanksgiving and praise as I am reminded once again on what you did for me. Father, forgive me for focusing more on this earth and my short existence here rather than eternity with you. Help me Lord to make my earthly choices and decisions under the light of eternity.

Thank you Jesus for your great sacrifice for me, that I might have life to the full with you. Forgive me for allowing the troubles of today to blind my eternal vision. You are my reason for being. You Chose me, created me and formed me for your purpose and glory, allow those facts to penetrate my heart and mind so that it is the number one thing that gives my life its worth.

Your blessings are the gifts I enjoy and all that I have comes from your generous and loving hand. Teach me Lord to be the person you created me to be. Help me to be gentle…kind…humble…meek… and patient, with those around me; as this is how they can see you within me.

Forgive me Father, for the many times I have been anything but… showing more frustration, anger, judgement, and impatience. Forgive me for any actions that may have led others away from you rather than leading them to you.

Your word promises us that what we cannot do on our own, the Spirit, within us , can do through us, So I pray for this internal change Father. Help me to be better today than yesterday, and tomorrow to be better than today…Thank you Jesus.

Help me to Love others better, to see others through your heart rather than my limited vision and often judgemental eyes. Show me Lord, if there is any unforgiveness in me and lead me to forgive others as you have forgiven me.

Lord Jesus, fill every part of my being; heart & mind, with your Truths, let them completely fill my life so that I can be your witness of your great Love to those around me.

Help me Lord to share this message of Love through the wisdom & talents you have given me. Fill my heart with a new song today Lord, let me sing of your faithfulness and goodness, lifting praise to the heavens for all you have done for me.

Guard my words, thoughts and actions today Lord Jesus, help me to pause before I speak or act so that ALL I do or say brings glory to your name. I commit this day and my days ahead to you Father.

In Jesus name ❤️ Amen

My Final Thoughts & Encouragement…

Are you struggling today with how to live for Christ in your present circumstances? Start by taking your focus off of the circumstances. This is not saying that they are not there, just shift your focus away from them.

Shift your thoughts and mind onto the truths from Gods word. His is fully present in these circumstances and will work out his purpose through them. In the meantime chose to live fully.

Live out your present life in a way that brings Glory to God inspite of your circumstances, this is how He will help you rise above them.

Look, I am about to do something new, even now it is coming. Do you not see it? Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. Isaiah 43:19
