(TT) I REALLY WANT FAITH… But what do I do with all my fear?

Everywhere I look, God is opening my eyes to see things differently than before.  I can’t wait to get down to the beach in the morning, to spend time with Jesus and open His Word so that He can continue to teach me.  These are totally new and foreign feelings for me.

Yet now, the words seem to jump off the page to me in a fresh new way.  I actually believe that Jesus is speaking directly to me through them… I guess that is what it means when we hear ; “ Gods Word brings life to those who read it.”

As I take in the serenity and the beauty of Gods creation around me, I sense God challenging me about the weight of the world that I am carrying on my shoulders.  The immensity of my fears and worries concerning what our future is going to look like once we get back home.

As I read passages from the books of Matthew and Luke, he causes me to look deeply around me … all the beauty He has created and holds together in His hands.  My eyes focus on the row of tiny sea birds perched on the berms designed to keep the calm waters in and the crashing waves out.

The tiny birds peck the nets for bugs, between chirps of thanksgiving for their blessing of food to the creator.  As I watched them, I was drawn into the clear blue water, where I could see the colorful fish swimming around my feet.

I smiled at the beauty and creativity of God and felt a deep peace watching them swim by, totally unconcerned with my presence.  What are you showing my Jesus, What are you teaching me today…

Journal Entry #3

If you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, may you be uprooted and be planted in the sea; and it would obey you!                  Luke 17:6 CEV

This is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life- whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear.  Isn’t life more than food and your body more than clothing?  Look at the birds, they don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your Heavenly Father feeds them.  And aren’t you more valuable to Him than they are?  Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?  And why worry about your clothing?  Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow.  They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are.  And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you .     Matthew 6:25-30 NLT

Lord Jesus,

Your word tells us that the Kingdom of God is like a mustard seed planted in a field.  It is the smallest of all seeds, but it becomes the largest of plants and grows into a tree, and birds come and make their nests in its branches.

Father that is like my faith… it sometimes is tiny like that seed, but if I plant it in you and feed it with your word, you will cause it to grow, so that in time my faith will also shelter others in need.  Lord, I pray you would increase my faith in that way.

I trust your word and your promises.  Thank you for reminding me that you can do big things out of a tiny amount of faith.  Thank you that with you nothing is impossible.  As I ponder over the words recorded in Matthew 6, I ask you Jesus to help me not to worry about my everyday life- whether I have enough food and drink- or enough clothes to wear.

Help me to remember that my life is so much more than food, and my body so much more than the clothing I wear.  As we walk through this difficult journey we find ourselves on, would you help me to keep my eyes on the birds Jesus, they don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns – you feed them.

Thank you that I am more valuable in your eyes than the birds.  Thank you for reminding me that all the things I could worry about cannot add an extra day to my life.  And Lord Jesus, help me not to worry about what I wear, help me to open my eyes to see the flowers and how they grow.

Or the fish in the sea and how they swim freely.  They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautiful as them.  Thank you Lord Jesus for reminding me that if you care so much for flowers and fish that are here today and gone tomorrow, how much more do you care for me?

Father, forgive me for worrying about all these things;  what I will eat, where I will live, what I will wear and so many other things that try to distract me in this world.  Forgive me for so little faith, again I pray that you would increase my faith so that I would not be like unbelievers , with these types of things and worries dominating my thoughts.

Thank you Lord, that you know ALL my needs.  I trust you with my future Father,  so I chose to not worry about tomorrow.. but place tomorrow into your trustworthy and capable hands. In Jesus name❤️ Amen

My final thoughts and encouragement…

Are you filled with worry and fear because of the things in your life you cannot control.  God will settle those fears , all you have to do is leave them in his capable hands.

Remember what Faith is- Trusting in what we do not see but know to be true.   Use these passages above or ask God to reveal others to you as you search the scriptures… Write out and pray these scriptures back to the Lord and rest in his promises.

Remember, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work”.  2Timothy 3: 16-17
